Submitted by Cindy Folks Lester
It was known as the Roher Cemetery and had around 50 grave sites which are
all now overgrown and most of the tombstones are missing or broken as of
2004. It sits a few hundred feet east of I-55 and immediately south of the
Pemiscot-New Madrid Co line just outside Portageville with the Portage Bayou
flowing on its northern boundary; it is on private property in the middle of
farm land. (Latitude 362427N Longitude 894123W)
Folks, William M. July 20, 1861 - Aug. 8, 1900 Husband of Susie Baker,
Folks; Masonic emblem on tombstone, "Father"
If you can use this please do so. William's tombstone is also gone now
(stolen I think) but we took pictures about 10 years ago.
