MRS. FIELDS AGED CITIZEN BURIED SUNDAY

Mrs. Lucy S. Fields died Saturday night at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Taylor, on West Fifth St., following an illness of several months duration. Mrs. Fields was up in years,
being 81 years, 4 months, and 6 days of age at the time of her death.
Mrs. Fields was born in 1845 near Richmond, VA, but in her early girlhood moved to middle Tennessee, and later to Missouri, which
has since been her home. She was a member of the Methodist Church of this city, joining thirty-eight years ago and has been a regular member
ever since. She was a member of the Woman's Bible Class of the Methodist Sunday School and attended fairly regularly until last October,
when she was taken ill.
Mrs. Fields is survived by three children, Mrs. George Taylor and C. D. Fields, of this city, and Mrs. Don Holman,
of Marion, AR. She also leaves two step-children, J. T. Fields of Clarkton, and Mrs. Georgia Carlton of St. Louis, and seven grandchildren. She
also leaves a sister, Mrs. Pattie Gore, of Tennemo, TN.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock at the Methodist Church with Rev. C. P. Throgmorton conducting
the service. Interment was made in Little Prairie Cemetery. The pall-bearers were V. V. McCoy, L. L. Crocker, Sid Carson, and Frank
Baird.
Notes: The Methodist church named is the Eastwood Memorial Methodist Church in Caruthersville. Her sister, Mrs. Pattie
Gore, was Mary Frances Jennings Gore. Julia Ann Fields married George Washington Taylor from Cottonwood Point, MO. See the Fields
